Versar, Inc.
announced today that it has been awarded two comprehensive Municipal
Stormwater (MS4) permit compliance contracts, each expected to exceed $1M over
one base year and up to five option years. For Arlington County, Virginia,
Versar will provide monitoring, modeling, mapping, design, inspection, program
development and implementation, data collection, analysis, management, and
other services to meet the requirements of the County's MS4 permit. This is
the first contract of this type awarded by Arlington County. Operators of MS4
systems are required to develop a stormwater management program to prevent
harmful pollutants from being washed or dumped into local water bodies after a
storm.
For Anne Arundel County, Maryland, Versar and their subcontractor Limno Tech
will be providing expert consultant support including: project coordination,
illicit discharge detection and elimination, assessment of controls, and
annual reporting. This is the fourth contract Versar has won as a prime
contractor or subcontractor with Anne Arundel, but the first to support MS4
compliance needs across the County.
Jeff Moran, Versar's Sr. Vice President of Environmental Services said, "With
these awards, Versar adds a fourth and fifth comprehensive, countywide MS4
permit compliance contract, similar to our contracts with Frederick, Harford,
and Howard Counties, Maryland. Versar has also provided stormwater compliance
and watershed planning support to Baltimore, Carroll, and Montgomery Counties
in Maryland and in Fairfax and Loudoun Counties in Virginia. This contract
solidifies Versar's position as the pre-eminent MS4 contractor in the region."
