A Peek Into The Market Before The Trading Starts

US stock futures are higher this morning, as investors are awaiting economic data. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 42 points to 13,226.00 and S&P 500 index futures rose 5.10 points to 1,432.10. Nasdaq 100 futures climbed 14 points to 2,676.00.

European markets were mostly higher today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index rose 0.27%, London's FTSE 100 Index gained 0.34%, French CAC 40 Index declined 0.02% and German DAX 30 index rose 0.38%. Asian markets ended mostly higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rising 0.96%, China's Shanghai Composite jumping 0.10% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 rising 0.49%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index fell 0.08% and India's Sensex climbed 0.63%.

Analysts at Susquehanna upgraded Goldman Sachs Group

from “neutral” to “positive.” The target price for Goldman Sachs has been raised from $127 to $149. Goldman Sachs shares gained 0.10% to $123.61 in after-hours trading.
