A Peek Into The Market Before The Trading Starts

US stock futures are mostly flat this morning, ahead of the presidential election. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 3 points to 12,994.00 and S&P 500 index futures fell 0.30 points to 1,405.20. Nasdaq 100 futures gained 2 points to 2,643.00.

European markets were lower today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index declined 0.68%, London's FTSE 100 Index fell 0.65%, French CAC 40 Index dropped 0.85% and German DAX 30 index declined 0.66%. Asian markets ended mostly lower, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average falling 0.48%, China's Shanghai Composite dropping 0.14% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 rising 0.23%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index declined 0.47% and India's Sensex gained 0.04%.

Analysts at Piper Jaffray upgraded Huntsman

from “neutral” to “overweight.” The target price for Huntsman has been raised from $15 to $21. Huntsman shares rose 4.25% to close at $16.19 on Friday.
