A Peek Into The Market Before The Trading Starts

US stock futures are mostly flat this morning, as investors are awaiting non-farm payrolls data. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 2 points to 13,163.00 and S&P 500 index futures rose 0.50 points to 1,423.70. Nasdaq 100 futures gained 0.50 points to 2,685.25.

European markets were mostly lower today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index climbed 0.18%, London's FTSE 100 Index rose 0.02%, French CAC 40 Index dropped 0.16% and German DAX 30 index gained 0.01%. Asian markets ended higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rising 1.17%, China's Shanghai Composite gaining 0.60% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 rising 0.08%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index surged 1.33% and India's Sensex gained 1.04%.

Analysts at Jefferies downgraded Exelon

from “buy” to “hold.” The target price for Exelon has been lowered from $39.50 to $34. Exelon shares rose 0.06% to $33.60 in after-hours trading.
