Midway through trading Wednesday, the Dow traded down 0.66 percent to 13,384.26 while the NASDAQ fell 0.45 percent to 3,051.15. The S&P also fell, decreasing 0.57 percent to 1,433.31.
Equities Trading UP
True Religion Apparel
TRLG remained up 23.42 percent to $25.93 midday Wednesday when the company announced it would look into strategic alternatives, including selling the company.
AuRico Gold
AUQ continued its rise, trading up 16.51 percent to $7.48 after it announced the sale of its Mexican assets.
Yum! Brands
YUM also got a boost, rising 8.71 percent to $71.43 after the company provided positive guidance in its analyst conference call and an earnings beat after the close Tuesday.
Equities Trading DOWN
SkyWest
SKYW fell 9.04 percent to $10.02 mid way through Wednesday after reporting its September traffic volume after the close Tuesday.
Yelp
YELP also fell, dropping 6.83 percent to $25.56, possibly linked to rumors that Facebook is testing a new restaurant review feature.
Shares of Darling International
DAR were also down, falling 6.32 percent to $16.44 following a downgrade at BMO Capital Markets.
Commodities
In commodity news, Oil traded up 0.28 percent to $92.65, while Gold traded down 0.06 percent to $1,764.00.
Silver traded up 0.03 percent midway through Wednesday to $33.96.
Euro Zone
There have been periodic comments this morning out of the EU stating various country's commitment to holding the zone together. Spain's Rajoy commented that a Greek exit from the zone would show a failure on the part of the Euro.
Economics
In economic news, MBA mortgage applications came in at -1.2 percent, far below the previous figure of 16.6 percent. Wholesale inventories were also reported, coming in at 0.5 percent, slightly lower than the expected 0.6 percent, and below the prior figure of 0.7 percent.
