US Stock Futures Slightly Higher Ahead Of Jobs Report

US stock futures are slightly higher this morning, ahead of nonfarm payrolls data. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 14 points to 13,512.00 and S&P 500 index futures rose 0.70 points to 1,456.50. Nasdaq 100 futures gained 5.25 points to 2,826.75. US stocks closed higher on Thursday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising 0.60% to 13,575.36, the S&P 500 index gaining 0.72% to 1,461.40 and the Nasdaq 100 index surging 0.45% to 3,149.46. The Labor Department is scheduled to release the jobs data at 8:30 a.m. ET. Constellation Brands

The STOXX Europe 600 Index rose 0.57%, London's FTSE 100 Index gained 0.42%, French CAC 40 Index surged 0.75% and German DAX 30 index rose 0.67%. Asian markets ended mostly higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average surging 0.44% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 rising 0.92%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index gained 0.50% and India's Sensex fell 0.63%. Nymex crude-oil futures dropped $0.76 to trade at $90.95 a barrel in electronic trade, while gold futures fell $4.50 to $1,792 an ounce. The dollar index (DXY) fell 0.01% to trade at 79.36, down from 79.376 in North American trade late Thursday. The euro declined 0.07% versus the dollar to trade at $1.3010, versus $1.3015. The US dollar dropped 0.02% against the Japanese yen to trade at 78.48.
