US Stock Futures Down Ahead Of Citigroup Earnings

US stock futures are lower this morning, as investors are awaiting earnings from Citigroup

. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 35 points to 12,677.00 and S&P 500 index futures fell 3.70 points to 1,348.00. Nasdaq 100 futures dropped 6.75 points to 2,570.25. US stocks closed higher on Friday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average surging 1.62% to 12,777.09, the S&P 500 index rising 1.65% to 1,356.78 and the Nasdaq 100 index gaining 1.48% to 2,908.47. Data on June retail-sales will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET. However, the New York Federal Reserve's Empire State Index for the month of July will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET. Nymex crude-oil futures declined $0.34 to $86.76 a barrel in electronic trade, while gold futures fell $7.60 to trade at $1,584.40 an ounce. The dollar index gained 0.3% to 83.601. The dollar dropped 0.3% against the Japanese yen to trade at ¥79.01. The euro declined 0.5% against the US dollar to trade at $1.2188.
