GM China Sales Surge 21.3% In May

Sales at General Motors Co

and its China joint ventures climbed 21.3% y/y to 231,183 vehicles in May. Sales of passenger cars by Shanghai GM surged 7.1% to 99,113 vehicles, while sales at FAW-GM dropped 0.7% to 3,756 units. For the first 5 months of the year, sales at GM and its joint ventures climbed 11.5% y/y to 1.2 million vehicles. GM shares closed at $21.11 yesterday.
