Earlier, Redwood Capital Management's Jonathan Kolatch spoke at the Ira Sohn investment conference. Redwood focuses on investing in distressed debt.
Kolatch stated that he liked Argentina. He said that the country's restructuring in 2005 was bullish for the country, as the Argentinian government was able to rework its balance sheet significantly.
He stated that Argentina had rapid GDP growth, and that its debt level is better than the US. Kolatch liked the country's export focus, as the majority of Argentina's exports are different types of food.
