gained about 0.06% after the company announced its plans to sell its homecare business in Belgium, Germany, France, Portugal and Spain to The Linde Group for 550 million euro, or around $750 million. Shares of BG Medicine Inc

gained about 1.8% after the company appointed Eric Bouvier as the firm's new president and chief executive officer and a member of the Board of Directors, effective January 9.
