Shares of RIT Technologies (NASDAQ: RITT), the Tel Aviv, network management company, rose 38% Tuesday on 42 times the average daily volume. The company announced today that it has appointed Peter Leonard, a Johannesburg-based IT industry professional, to become its Country Sales Manager of South Africa. Mr. Leonard will be mandated with further developing RiT's business in South Africa, a region whose rapid uptake of IT technologies makes it a land of opportunity for RiT's industry-leading solutions.
RIT also announced a deal with Vodafone Ghana, already in place.
RIT Technologies traded in a range of $3.46 to $5.00 Tuesday, closing at $4.47.
DHT Holdings (NYSE: DHT), the Channel Islands-based crude-oil tanker owner and operator, rose 26% today on 4.5 times the average daily volume.

Peregrine Pharmaceuticals announced preliminary results from a randomized Phase II trial showing a 50% improvement in overall tumor response rates in non-small cell lung cancer patients. Patients treated with bavituximab plus carboplatin and paclitaxel currently demonstrate an ORR of 39%, versus 26% in patients treated with carboplatin and paclitaxel alone.
Peregrine traded in a range of $1.20 to $1.53 Tuesday, and closed at $1.21.
