Home Retail Reports Drop In Comparable Basis At Argos Unit

reported sales at its Argos unit in the second quarter climbed to £859 million, from £817 million, in the year-earlier period. On a comparable basis, sales declined 8.6% for Argos. For its Homebase unit, sales dropped to £382 million, from £458 million, and dipped 3.1% on a comparable basis. Home Retail Group shares gained 0.13% to close at $7.49 yesterday.
