AppleInsider Refutes Blaze.io Claims (AAPL, GOOG)

AppleInsider has come out and refuted the earlier claim that Google's GOOG Android browser was faster than Apple AAPL iPhone.

Blaze.io had earlier reported that the Android was faster than the iPhone went it came to loading web pages, with a speed of 2.1 seconds for Android, and 3.2 seconds for the iPhone.

AppleInsider maintains that Blaze Software used a poorly performing custom iPhone app, rather than using Safari itself.

Guy Podjarny, Blaze Software's chief technology officer, said, "it's not that Apple doesn't care about speed, but Google is fanatical about it."

AppleInsider said the way Blaze performed the test was inaccurate, as Blaze tested page loading on the iPhone 4 using the company's own proprietary app, which did not take advantage of the improvements in iOS 4.3.
