Cam Newton Signs Deal With Under Armour (UA)

CNBC's Darren Rovell,
is reporting that Heisman Trophy Quarterback Cam Newton has signed with Under Armour
UA
with the biggest rookie deal of all time, surpassing the deal that Adidas gave Reggie Bush. Bush was given $1 million to wear and sponsor its products when he left USC in 2005. In addition to having Newton wear Under Armour shoes, Newton will have his own line of products, including jerseys with his name on the back, as well as football and training gear, including signature a signature shoe line. The deal was not confirmed by Under Armour spokesperson Diane Pelkey, and Newton's marketing agent, IMG's Carlos Fleming did not comment on the deal as well. Rovell is also reporting that Under Armour has signed a deal with Major League Baseball to supply it with performance shoes. At last check, shares of Under Armour were trading at $69.78, a loss of 3 cents. Under Armour, Inc. develops, markets, and distributes performance apparel, footwear, and accessories for men, women, and youth primarily in the United States, Canada, and internationally.
