. While the aforementioned talk show hosts did not mean to bolster Ashley Madison's success, they fell into the same trap that doomed Metallica when file-sharing first arrived. But instead of complaining to every media outlet that would listen (as Metallica did), talk show hosts have allowed Ashley Madison's founder, Noel Biderman, to come onto their shows so they could attack him face-to-face. And every time they did, his website soared. “We're able to sign up 10,000 people every hour to the server,” Biderman bragged during a recent interview with Benzinga. Full Interview:

According to Biderman, the service has become somewhat of a sociology experiment that draws information from more than 8,325,000 members. “[We have] really powerful data about who's coming or why they're coming here, how long they're staying,” Biderman said. “Our conversations have often started as, ‘Oh my goodness, there's a site that caters to people in relationships looking to have affairs!' But it starts to evolve as more of a reflection in the mirror about what this society is really about and how we behave in relationships.” “We all know that a marriage today is more likely to fail than succeed,” he adds, “if you want to define success as staying together.” Biderman feels that this has led to a changing face of matrimony. “Matrimony hasn't always looked this way, meaning it hasn't always been monogamous and heterosexual. We're evolving to include same-sex couples. It used to be much more focused on the absence of pre-marital sex. People got married much, much younger. So many things change – it's not a static institution.” “Until we start looking at monogamy and its impact,” Biderman continued, “we're constantly going to be kind of blown away by the topic of an affair, when truthfully it's something we need to understand better.” To hear more from Ashley Madison's founder and CEO – including the relevancy of an Ashley Madison IPO – don't miss Benzinga's
