reported after the close today, November 3rd The New England Journal of Medicine published a study which found patients taking Afinitor tablets saw a decrease in the size of their subependymal giant cell astrocytoma. Astrocytoma's are a benign brain tumor associated with TB 1 and 2. The company stated during a presentation at the 46th annual American Society of Clinical Oncology annual meeting this is the first study to show a beneficial use of the drug in patients.
