What one word could best describe
Apple Inc.AAPL
's WWDC conference
presentation
on Monday? How about a term typically used to describe a food buffet of various hot and cold items: "smorgasbord."

Smorgasbord is a good term to describe Apple's event, as the company introduced nearly everything that was expected, Robert Baird's senior analyst William Power explained during CNBC's "Squawk Box" segment on Monday.

Among the "buffet" of new items are Amazon Prime Video's inclusion in Apple TV, which by itself is a "big" move, the analyst explained. But Apple also introduced longer-term compelling features such peer-to-peer payment capabilities and the new augmented reality developer kit.

Apple Doesn't Know Its Own Potential

Apple's move to open up its platform to AR developers is a sign that its products are becoming so powerful the company doesn't even recognize the true range of possibilities, Recode's Edmund Lee added to the conversation.

"What Apple is signaling to the developers are there is a lot of cool stuff you can do even we don't know what it is yet so please come build it for us," Lee stated.

In terms of artificial intelligence, Siri is intended to be much more than a "voice thing" it is a platform that can smartly connect user's devices to better anticipate what a user wants and when it wants it, Lee suggested.

The main issue Apple faces is that its Siri platform is very powerful but isn't deployed in the smartest way from a consumer's point of view. Lee believes Apple recognizes this reality which is why it is opening up its platform to developers who can tap into the true potential.
