Jessica Lessin, founder of The Information expressed her reservations on CBS Corporation CBS's announcement on "CBS All Access," a monthly subscription-based online service similar to Netflix, Inc. NFLX.

"I think we are seeing all types of television packaging, obviously the huge fragmentation. But we haven't seen the Apple bundle coming together. So there are lots of roadblocks on that," Lessin told CNBC.

While saying that the licensing business of the CBS "isn't it great it used to be," she noted "there are lot of open questions about this business right now."

Commenting on the CBS CEO Leslie Moonves's optimistic comments on the upfront, Lessin said "I know that les was very optimistic on the upfront. But hearing lot of mixed things, upfronts have been very soft."

Lessin also noted that the current "bad experience" with subscription apps leaves room for business opportunity for companies such as Apple Inc. AAPL, which is trying to do a more integrated Apple TV.
