Twitter Inc
TWTR
is about to launch a personal video broadcasting service on its platform called Periscope. Chris Sacca, Lowercase Capital founder and early stage Twitter investor was on CNBC Wednesday to explain what the service does and why Twitter has become an indispensable part of the economy. Indispensable To Economy "I think it's just becoming clear and clear that Twitter is just an indispensable part of not just the media landscape, but the economy at this point," Sacca said. "It's where everything real-time is happening and what we are starting to see is the emergence of Twitter as a true multimedia company." "The strength of their video plays, the photo engagement that's happening there and literally the interaction between the companies and their consumers is becoming richer and richer and richer and as result we are seeing more and more ad dollars flow in." He continued, "Advertisers know that the interactions on Twitter are more valuable and [inform…] more information and more highly targeted than just about anywhere else. They have the interest graph that nobody else has and so I think Wall Street is starting to pick up on it." Periscope Service Sacca was asked to reveal more details about the Periscope service. He replied, "Yes so the Periscope is the new eminently launchable kind of just forthcoimg any day now I am told, I don't work at the company, but personal live video broadcasting platform that the company has in the works. I have got a beta, I have got camera right here in the studio that's broadcasting what I am doing with you to all my followers on the service, it's absolutely amazing."
