Apple Inc. AAPL revealed all there was to know about the Apple Watch. However, will the hype surrounding it be enough to sell the Watch?

Allison+Partners President Jonathan Heit was on CNBC Tuesday to answer that question.

‘Hype' Is Not The Right Word

"I think you have to put it into perspective, this is Tim Cook's first event where he is launching a new product so it comes inherent with some risk involved and I think on all counts, it really lived up to that factor," Heit said. "I don't think hype is necessary the right word, I think they do a good job of showmanship without being showy."

The Real Measure Of The Watch

"I think the watch is a really interesting avenue into existing iPhone owners and the cult loyalist that iPhone and Apple have bred over two decades of great products, right?" Heit said. "The real measure of this product is going to be later in the year when you get to holiday time and you start to see the mid- to late- adopters and whether they are getting this product as a holiday gift or buying it themselves."

Fitness Aspect Stands Out

Heit was asked what aspect of the Watch will make a person sitting on the fence go ahead and buy it. He replied, "For a person on the fence, I think the fitness aspects of this watch are things that really stand out. The challenge this watch has is it a fashion accessory or is it a gadget? So, it depends on who you are talking to."

"To think about brands as a brand consultant, able to provide digital tools to a lot of people to interact with the brand in new ways and actually create new revenue opportunities in fun and interacting fashion was really compelling to me," Heit concluded.
