CNBC's Fast Money, Paul Hickey of Bespoke Investment Group shared with the viewers the statistics of stock performance in strong U.S. Dollar environment.
Since 1960, the Dollar index gained more than 10 percent seven times and every time the market closed the next year higher. It gained around 15 percent on average.
The best-performing sectors were technology, telecom services and consumer discretionary, while the energy space, basic materials and financials lagged the market. The financial space outperformed in the first quarter, but it ended the year lower.
