Don't Like The New Yahoo Finance? The Canadian Site Might Be Your Savior

There is little doubt that Yahoo! Inc.'s YHOO popularity has declined over the years as new competitors offered superior services. This is most apparent in Yahoo's recent moves to reformat and make drastic changes to one of its few properties that remained popular over the years - Yahoo Finance.

Business Insider reported in late 2015 that Yahoo implemented many unpopular changes to its now longer popular finance page. Users complained that message boards are missing, load times have worsened, pages are riddled with errors, among other headaches.

One of the biggest drawbacks of the revamped Yahoo Finance page, as noted by Business Insider, was the removal of a tool used for customizing portfolio tracking.

"Yahoo Finance is continually developing and testing new product concepts in order to offer the best experience for users and advertisers," a Yahoo spokeswoman told Business Insider. "We have nothing further to share at this time."

Yahoo Finance Canada hasn't changed much - if at all. For the time being, the site offers the familiar format that users were used to on the U.S. site.

Many of the familiar tools are still in place on the Canadian version, including a portfolio tracker. Users can even customize the page to highlight U.S.-related market news, although investors could also learn a thing or two about the resource-rich Canadian market.
