Stocks Close Narrowly Mixed After Fed News; Nasdaq Lags (Investor's Business Daily)

Durable Goods report was released at 8:30 AM and came in lower than expected, pushing futures down temporarily into negative territory. We're basically flat this morning with a mixed bag across sectors in the premarkets. Some major earnings to look out for are Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL), Proctor & Gamble (NYSE: PG), Ford (NYSE: F) & Boeing (NYSE: BA). Apple had a solid quarter and promised to return a lot of dough back to shareholders. Once Tim Cook hopped on the conference call though, the stock gave back all of its gains and is now negative this morning. Investors are still not happy.

Futures have rallied significantly in the past few sessions which could open the door to some indecision to close out this trading week. It is very possible we go into chop mode today so be sure to watch the futures closely and your sentiment across the large-cap sectors to get a read on possible direction for the day.

Gold & Silver are up today and could continue the rally into the big gap down from last week. The US Mint even said they sold out of their smallest gold coin.

I'll be writing options for most of the session today and focusing on booking some gains after my big loss in LinkedIN (NYSE: LNKD). All about building the confidence back!
