Lean Hog Futures Mixed

February lean hogs are trading at 65.30, up 0.25 cents/lb. April lean hogs are trading at 69.12, down 0.20 cents/lb. June lean hogs are trading at 78.22, unchanged on the day. Lean hog futures are trading steady just after the open. Trading is rangebound. Chatter about cash hog prices and consumer demand ahead is making the rounds. Tuesday's USDA estimated hog slaughter was 431,000 head , the total for the week is now 857,000 head versus 751,000 head a year ago.
