Wheat Futures Mixed

December Chicago Wheat is trading at 421 1/2, down 2 1/4 cents/bushel. March Chicago Wheat is trading at 440, down 2 cents/bushel. December Kansas City Wheat is trading at 412 1/4, up 1/4 of a cent/bushel. Wheat futures are trading rangebound early Tuesday morning. The weekly winter wheat planting report showed 72 percent of the U.S. winter wheat crop was planted versus 59 percent a week ago and 73 percent a year ago. The ten year average at this time of year is 74 percent. The USDA reported on Monday that as of October 13th wheat export inspections for the 2016-2017 marketing year are now 41.6 percent of the agency forecast versus the five year average of 42.8 percent.
