Live Cattle Futures Little Changed

October live cattle is trading at 101.77, down 0.12 cents/lb. December live cattle is trading at 102.57, down 0.10 cents/lb. February live cattle is trading at 103.05, down 0.10 cents/lb. Live cattle futures are trading steady just after the open. Chatter about consumer demand impacts from the hurricane approaching the southeast coast of the U.S. and cash prices is making the rounds. Tuesday's USDA cattle slaughter was 115,000 head. The total slaughter for the week is now 229,000 head versus 224,000 head a week ago and 217,000 a year ago.
