Lean Hog Futures Little Lower

October lean hogs are trading at 55.40, down 0.02 cents /lb. December lean hogs are trading at 49.72, down 0.22 cents/lb. February lean hogs are trading at 54.07, down 0.30 cents/lb. Lean hog futures are trading a little lower just after the open. Market chatter about consumer demand an hog supplies is making the rounds. Friday's USDA estimated hog slaughter was 399,000 head, Saturday's was 216,000 head . The total for the week is 2.359 million head, up 3.1 percent from a year ago. Trading is expected to be choppy.
