Lean Hog Futures Trading Lower

October lean hogs are trading at 59.10, down 0.32 cents /lb. December lean hogs are trading at 52.32, down 0.70 cents/lb. February lean hogs are trading at 57.20, down 0.57 cents/lb. Lean hog futures are trading lower just after the open. Market chatter about hog supplies ahead, cash prices and consumer demand is making the rounds. Monday's USDA hog slaughter was 440,000 head versus 435,000 a year ago.
