Lean Hogs Little Higher

Lean hog Futures are trading a little higher. July Hogs are trading at 74.90, up 0.55. August Lean Hogs are trading at 72.77, up 0.50 and October hogs are trading at 63.47, up 0.35. Market chatter about Friday's USDA quarterly Hog and Pig report is making the rounds. The Street is expecting the USDA report to show All hogs and pigs as of June 1 were near 103 percent to 105 percent of a year ago; the breeding herd data is be expected to be 101.5 percent to 102.5 percent of a year ago and the kept for market data is expected to be at 108 percent to 109 percent of a year ago.
