Lean Hog Futures are trading higher Monday morning during early trading. Last in April Hogs is 68.00, up 0.67. Last in June Hogs is 82.40 up 0.67.
Some chatter about the Port Strike ending is considered slightly friendly. Other Market talk that it will take 6 weeks to clean up the ports of the meat is not seen as having any impact on the April contract. Trading is expected to be choppy and with wide ranges. Friday's USDA cold storage report showed frozen pork stocks on January 31st were 596.5 million pounds, down 3.6% from last year and over 18.4% for the month. Pork production last week was 491.9 million pounds, up 9.3% from last year.
