  • Stellantis NV STLA is recalling Jeep Cherokee SUVs due to possible fire risk.
  • Chrysler-parent Stellantis is recalling 219,000 Jeep Cherokee SUVs worldwide for fire risks and warned owners to park outside until repairs are made, reported Reuters.
  • The recall pertains to the model year 2014-2016 Jeep Cherokee vehicles.
  • An electrical short in the power lift gate module may lead to a vehicle fire with the ignition on or off. This recall includes 132,099 vehicles previously repaired during a 2015 recall.

  • The report quoted the automaker stating, "owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete." 
  • Recently, Stellantis halted construction at its C$5 billion ($3.7 billion) battery plant in Windsor, Ontario, claiming that the Canadian government still needs to meet its financial commitment to the company.
  • "As of today, the Canadian Government has not delivered on what was agreed to therefore Stellantis and LG Energy Solution will immediately begin implementing their contingency plans," the EV maker told Benzinga.
  • Price Action: STLA shares are trading lower by 1.15% at $15.91 on the last check Tuesday.
