Delta Air Lines In Talks With Airbus For Wide-Body Aircraft Order: Report - Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL)

Delta Air Lines, Inc. DAL is reportedly engaged in talks with aircraft manufacturer Airbus SE EADSF EADSY for a huge wide-body aircraft order.
A gain in demand for long-haul flying has nudged Delta to revamp older planes and boost post-COVID networks, reported Bloomberg.
The center of the confidential talks is A350 and A330neo twin-aisle jets.
A breakthrough in the talks would lead to an order for dozens of planes, as Delta wants to replace more than 100 of its older A330 and Boeing Company BA 767 models.

The carrier is increasing seats on international routes by more than 20% this quarter compared to last year.
Also, about 75% of global seats had already been booked, signaling strong demand for long-distance flying.
"We are excited with the momentum we're seeing and expect record revenues and profitability for the summer travel season," the report cited company President Glen Hauenstein on an April 13 conference call.
Price Action: DAL shares closed higher by 1.47% at $33.72 on Monday.
