Steve Jobs' Personal NFT Sandals Sold For Over $200,000 At Auction

A pair of Birkenstock sandals worn by Apple Inc. APPL co-founder Steve Jobs throughout his life has been auctioned off for $218,750. Included in the deal was an NFT featuring Steve Jobs' sandals, minted on Polygon MATIC/USD blockchain.

What Happened: Julien’s Auctions organized the auction from Nov. 11 to 13. Over 19 bidders fought for possession of the footwear, with offers ranging from $15,000 to $175,000.

The NFT is a limited edition sandal that includes a sandal with the “imprint of Steve Jobs’s feet.” The package includes a storage and transport case and a Jean Pigozzi book titled The 213 Most Important Men in My Life.

At first, the sandals and NFT were thought to be worth between $60,000 and $80,000, but after 19 bids, the sandals were sold for a whopping $218,750. The new owner of the sandal NFT has not been publicly disclosed. 

Price Action: MATIC is trading at $0.9372 down 0.53% in the past 24 hours, according to Benzinga Pro.
