Goldman Sachs Sued Over “Mommy Track” (GS)
A former Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS) VP has sued the firm over alleged “Mommy Track”. Charlotte Hanna, an Ex-VP, said that she worked at Goldman Sachs (GS) University. She claimed that the company demoted her after her first maternity leave. She was fired a week before her return from a second maternity leave. Goldman declined to comment.
According to the complaint, Ms. Hanna joined the firm in 1998 as an associate. She was promoted to vice president position in 2000. The complaint said, “It is clear that Goldman Sachs views working mothers as second-class citizens who should be at home with their children.” The complaint has alleged that working mothers constituted 75% of those “selected for termination” in her group.
