PucMed Is An All-Natural Cannabis Company That's Setting Its Roots In Uruguay

Quality and health are at the forefront of importance for this cannabis company.
Created by Alfonso Cardozo Ferretjans, MD, PucMed is a hemp cultivation company based in Uruguay. Ferretjans started the brand as a way to unite his two passions, agriculture and medicine.
In August 2019, PucMed obtained its first license to grow cannabis and have already expanded its authorized area of cultivation from 5 to 50 thousand square meters.

The Cannabis Market In Uruguay

Uruguay was the first country in the world to legalize marijuana. And as it stands, continues to be a great place for those interested in investing in cannabis.
According to PucMed, production costs in Uruguay are around ¼ of those in the U.S. and Canada. The prices of the land, labor, licenses and tax deductions make Uruguay a competitive market.
Uruguay’s new government has decided to break a secular tradition of being a big meat exporter to make cannabis its main national product creating great potential for this market.

The Company’s Mission

PucMed is the only cultivator in Uruguay producing 100% organic and hydroponic CDB flowers. This feeds into the company’s mission to search for natural solutions to guarantee the quality of its products.
This past week, the company signed with a Canadian extraction lab that agreed to buy 100% of its production in 2021-2022.
“Uruguay can be the new cannabis El Dorado and we at PucMed have the know-how and the facilities ready to receive investments for the enlargement of our operation and deliver great returns,” said David Peixoto, partner at PucMed.
