Trading Into The News: US NAHB Housing Market Index

On Tuesday, November 18, 2014, The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Housing Market Index will release its news report at 10:00 AM. This index measures the strength of the single-family housing market each month through surveys of around 900 NAHB members. A rating of 50 indicates that responses received from builders is neither positive or good, but ratings above 50 indicate a favorable outlook on home sales. This report is released each month. Last month the forecast was 59 and the actual came in at 54. So far for this month, there has not been a number forecast.

This is a news item with low importance, so it may not make a big difference in your trading. However, if you would like to trade into this news event, look for an Iron Condor on a Nadex Spread using the EUR/USD. You can enter as early as 9:00 AM with an expiration of 11:00 AM. Remember to buy the lower spread and sell the upper spread. Have the ceiling of the lower spread equal to the floor of the upper spread and go for a minimum profit of $25.
