Market Futures Maintain Downward Slide
Pre-market futures for the upcoming trading session predicts a rough time for investors, as the worst trading month in a year draws to a close.
Futures for the three exchanges were less than optimistic, with the Dow down 45 points, the S&P 500 down 8.8 points, and NASDAQ down 31 points. Last week futures predicted a declining week, even after major announcements by Apple and other corporations with huge fourth quarter earnings reports.
The financial, health, and tech sectors were also down, indicative of a generally negative outlook. Last week was particularly big for the tech sector, but surprisingly it led the market in the slide in the last three trading days. With a slate of earnings reports due in the coming weeks, investors are likely on guard and looking with a careful eye towards the potentially high volatility of the market next week.
