Google, Inc.
GOOG
is set to release a new feature for its popular Gmail service that allows users to prioritize important e-mails. Google said on its official blog that the new feature - "Priority Box" - will help users focus on messages that really matter, without establishing complicated rules. According to a Reuters report, "The Priority Inbox application splits the inbox into three sections: 'Important and unread', 'Starred' and 'Everything Else'." The company recently announced a feature that allows Gmail users to make regular phone calls through the service. "As messages come in, Gmail automatically flags some of them as important. Gmail uses a variety of signals to predict which messages are important, including the people you email most and which messages you open and reply to," the company said. The service is expected to be rolled out this week. Shares of Google are down 0.25% this afternoon, to $451.51.
