US stock futures are pointing to a higher open today, as markets open after a long holiday weekend. Positive comments from the Australian central bank, bullish overseas markets and buying opportunities drove up US stock futures. While futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 102 points to 9698 two hours before the start of trading, those on the S&P 500 added 12.2 points to 1026.5. Meanwhile, Nasdaq 100 futures advanced 27 points to 1748.25. The market movement is in contrast to how US stocks started off the third quarter. Before the July 4 weekend, investors had lowered their corporate earnings outlook as they were jittery about the economic growth prospects. Investors are set to focus on the US non-manufacturing gauge for the Institute for Supply Management (
ISM
) for June, which is due to release today. Learn how to find the best
