An alligator dragged two-year-old Lane Graves into a man-made lagoon at Walt Disney Co DIS's Disney Grand Floridian Resort near Orlando on Tuesday night. The search that ensued for the child headlined news for the majority of Wednesday until the boy's body was found later in the evening, Yahoo! Finance's Sam Ro reported.

Disney pulled and euthanized five alligators from its man-made lake, which is frequented by many hotel guests and is adorned with posted warnings regarding the dangerous animals so frequently in residence in Floridian swampland.

The alligator attack comes just days after the worst mass shooting in U.S. history, which also took place in Orlando. In addition, it was revealed that the shooter might have cased one of Disney's shopping malls a week before the attack. The shooting occurred a couple days after the killing of former Voice contestant Christina Grimmie, who was also shot in Orlando. "Orlando was almost synonymous to Disney World, a safe and fun place to vacation with your kids," Ro stated. The events in the past two weeks could hurt Disney's image in a huge way.

On top of the stressful events in Disney's hometown, Shanghai Disneyland opened on Thursday. CEO Bob Iger was caught in a PR nightmare as the park that was supposed to be the remedy for the plagued Disney stock lost most of its media coverage due to the domestic problems Disney faces here in the United States.

Despite current tough times, analysts expect Shanghai Disneyland to become the world's most visited theme park with an estimate of 50 million guest a year, compared to 19 million guests at Walt Disney World In Orlando.
