Speech Recognition Software Technology - The Global Decade of STT Speech to Text

People have been talking about SRT Speech Recognition Technology for over 20 years.  I remember the dictation machines of the 70's, and I had always hoped that one day we could talk directly into a computer or handheld and that it would understand us clearly.

I bought a dictation software about 8 years ago and it simply did not work. Again, about 4 years ago, and virtually the same thing. Most recently, I installed the leading software for voice recognition and behold it really worked right out of the box.  Thus, STT Speech to Text technology and software has  now become a mandatory feature.

Here are  my Top Ten reasons why voice recognition software will rule this decade:

  1. It FINALLY works, and it can be trained to understand a wide range of dialects and accents.
  2. With time management issues and the lack of typing skills out there, this technology will be in high demand.  It beats hourly dictation services because it is available in real time. With the webs' growth, there are more people who need to update documents and  websites daily such as: Governments, Journalists, Reporters, Media, and so forth.
  3. With so many of us using email, texts, social networks, and blogs, this technology will become commonplace.
  4. With various applications from PCs, Handhelds, Pads, and Appliances, the voice recognition will rule the new generation.
  5. With state and federal laws changing, voice recognition may be mandatory for use in automobiles rather than texting.
  6. With videos, vignettes, movies, and advertising:  voice recognition will be instrumental in creating viewable closed captioning and sub-titles.
  7. The average $400 US dollars computer has enough memory and processing power to handle this type of software without taking up much hard drive space, and most computers and handhelds  have a fairly good microphone built into them these days. However, a good voice recognition headset with microphone may generally come with leading software.
  8. US Legal Note: The ADA Americans with Disabilities Act could play a part in the mass use of this technology to make sure the hearing impaired can read the captioning in major schools, universities, public institutions, and even local high schools schools.
  9. With hundreds of countries around the world and dozens of major languages with millions of users of each language, the sheer demographics may allow voce recognition software companies   for major regions around the world to prosper for the next 10- 20 years.
  10. The utter need for real time interpretation makes voice recognition software key in the capture, printing, and translation of speech into another language in text format which can be used in a multitude of venues such as internet phone, news, healthcare and emergency situations, courtroom dictation and translation, international conferences, video captioning etc.
