The Challenger Award is reserved for innovators and upstarts disrupting the industry of sports betting. A jury evaluated key criteria including innovation, execution, financial performance and compliance.
The Decision
Wagr is a company innovating the sports betting landscape. Instead of a traditional sportsbook, Wagr allows players to bet against fellow players in a social media setting, instead of a sportsbook setting.
Much like nearly 85% of all U.S. sportsbooks, odds and lines are provided by Sportradar, an international sports data analysis firm.
Wagr is owned by Yahoo.
