This weekend at the Ames Straw Poll, Michele Bachmann beat out Ron Paul by a mere 152 votes. This "accomplishment" has appeared to push Bachmann into "top tier" status according to media pundits, but objectively speaking, it was hardly impressive. Consider that the poll was held in Bachmann's native state of Iowa, and that she spent a ton of money campaigning there, and the real question should be why did she not win by more? Paul's showing was tremendously impressive given that the media continues to ignore him, and he is frequently dismissed as "not electable."
It sure looks, like a lot of people like his message of peace and liberty, however, despite what the corporate media says about him. It really is quite shameful, and plenty of people are noticing. Last night on the Daily Show, Jon Stewart took up the cause. After showing clips of hack media anchors going out of their way not to mention Dr. Paul, he asked incredulously, "How did libertarian Ron Paul become the 13th floor in a hotel?" View the clip
