S&P 500 Index Futures Trading Higher

S&P 500 index futures were trading higher by nine points at 1974.75 in Wednesday's session. During pre-market trading, the index came within one point of its recovery high (1992.75), only reaching 1992.

However, off the opening bell it found resistance ahead of that level at 1987.50 and began to decline. So far, it has found intra-day support at 1972.50 and rebounded to its current level.

All but one of the top 10 components of the index are in the green. The laggard being Johnson & Johnson JNJ shares which are unchanged at $93.94. Leading the way on the way on the upside is Wells Fargo WFC shares which are trading higher by $0.61 at $53.54. It is followed by Exxon Mobil XOM shares which are trading higher by $0.64 at $74.14.
