S&P 500 index futures were trading lower by nine points at 2075.25 in Thursday's session. After trading as high as 2093, the index found resistance just ahead of the close (2084.25), only reaching 2083.75 before declining to 2073.25. It's having a hard time distancing itself from that level.
Nine of the top 10 components are in the red and Wells Fargo WFC is clinging to a small gain. Pfizer PFE shares are leading the way on the downside as the issue is lower by $0.42 at $34.93. It is followed by General Electric GE shares which are trading lower by $0.18 at $25.69.
