Doubleline/Gundlach: What in the World is Going On?

A perennial Sense on Cents All Star and Hall of Fame inductee, Doubleline's CEO Jeff Gundlach, presented an investment  webcast yesterday.

I welcome sharing the slides utilized by the premiere investment manager in the business as he spanned the globe in his presentation dubbed, “What in the World Is Going On?”

Anybody with even a passing interest in understanding what is happening in our global economy will want to take anywhere from 5 minutes to many hours to absorb what can only be described as a treasure trove of invaluable, informative, and insightful analysis.

Gundlach's presentation provides an overview of the following and much more:

1. 2013 Global GDP Growth Past, Present, Future: what areas are growing, running in place, and receding?
2. Eurozone Unemployment
3. US 10 year Forward Breakeven Inflation Rate
4. Graph of Consumer Price index from 1958 to 2013
5. Graph of S&P 500 vs Growth of Federal Reserve Balance Sheet
6. Bar Chart of Expected Future Deficits excluding Interest Expense out to 2017
7. Bar Chart of Debt, Deficit, and Interest Expense Estimates out to 2017
8. Bar Chart of National Corporate Income Tax Rates in the OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development)
9. Corporate Profits Hit All Time High as % of GDP
10. Corporate Profitability by Industry (care to take a guess as to the most profitable?)
11.  Graph of U.S. Median Household Income (confirmation of yesterday's commentary on stagnant growth in disposable personal income)
12. Graph of Average Hourly Earnings since 1985 . . . . rut-roh
13. Graph of Unemployment Rate and (more importantly and disturbing) Employment to Population Ratio
14. Graph of Average Length of Unemployment
15. Bar Chart of Labor Participation Rates by Age Group
16. A wealth of info on market returns and sector performance
17. More info and data on housing market and mortgage trends, including graphs on delinquency and default rates.

Questions, comments, constructive criticisms always encouraged and appreciated.
