What is a double or triple-top in a trading vehicle?

A technical pattern when a trading vehicle puts in place two or three highs at nearly the same price level. It can be used in a similar fashion to isolated resistance levels, but may be better utilized to identify a bona-fide breakout in the issue.

An issue may put in place four, five or even more tops in a particular area, which may increase the validity of breakout to the upside.
