The National Association of Day Traders Educates Traders on Electronic Trading

Founded as traders transitioned from trading floors to transacting online, The National Association of Day Traders serves as an educational platform for the trading community.

“If you become a teacher or a dentist, what do you do? You join the National Association of Teachers, or the National Dental Association, so you know what your colleagues are doing and what the industry itself is doing,” said Brian McGowan of the National Association of Day Traders in an exclusive interview with Benzinga.

McGowan went on the explain how the organization got its start as traders left the pits for electronic markets. “There was really nowhere to guide people in this transition. So, we decided to build an association where guys could understand where they could get the best hardware and software that they would need to trade the markets off the floor.”

Along with software and hardware solutions, the organization’s greatest impact comes in the form of educational solutions. From webinars and seminars to books and videos, members can explore just about any trading topic.

McGowan emphasized that the association does not receive commissions from affiliate sales, nor does it tell its members which services to use. The association acts as a platform for its users to see what is available.

The association has seen tremendous growth recently, both domestically and overseas. The majority of its members are people looking to get a better handle on their own financial position.

“We have those that are looking for supplemental income, we have those that are looking for a new career, but I would say the majority are people who are really just looking to take a better hands on approach to their own financial position.”
