4 Stocks Moving In After-Hours: Clinical Trials, Earnings & New Product Lines

U.S. stock markets were mixed on Wednesday, with Dow industrials and the S&P 500 driven lower by tumbling oil prices, and the Nasdaq pushed higher largely on the back of Apple Inc. AAPL’s 3.54 percent surge.

Apogee Enterprises Inc APOG continued to rise more than 6 percent after-hours, driven by the announcement of its Q2 results. EPS of $0.77 and revenue of $278.5 million beat the Street’s consensus by $0.10 and $10.45 million, respectively. In addition, CEO Joseph F. Puishys boosted the fiscal 2017 outlook.

Violin Memory Inc VMEM gained roughly 2.2 percent after the market closed, even though the company issued a going concern warning, citing revenue, margin, expenditure and financing issues. The stock rallied during the day, driven by the release of the company’s latest flash arrays.

Shares of Student Transportation Inc STB gained 5.45 percent after the bell rang. After the market closed, the small-cap company posted Q4 EPS of $0.07 on revenue of $166.19 million, $0.02 and $2.52 million above estimates, respectively.

Aerie Pharmaceuticals Inc AERI was up more than 65 percent on news about its Phase 3 study of Roclatan having met its primary efficacy endpoint.
