4 Zika-Related Stocks Surging Today
Zika-related stocks were surging higher on Monday following reports that the virus has spread to Singapore.
According to CNN, 41 cases of locally-transmitted Zika virus has been confirmed in the Asian country. Among those affected, seven patients are still showing signs of the virus, but the rest have fully recovered.
CNN quoted a statement from Singapore's Ministry of Health, which said the individuals "are not known to have traveled to Zika-affected areas recently" and are assumed to "have been infected in Singapore."
Reports of the disease being contracted in Asia helped boost shares of several companies involved in developing a cure of the disease.
